Esteban C. Hernández

OF COUNSEL

Esteban Hernández is an of counsel attorney at Maier Gutierrez & Associates, representing clients in business litigation, employment matters, and personal injury cases.

Prior to joining Maier Gutierrez & Associates, Esteban served as a judicial law clerk, first with the Honorable Jerome T. Tao of the Nevada Court of Appeals and then with the Honorable Gloria M. Navarro of the United States District Court for the District of Nevada. As an appellate clerk, Esteban worked on cases involving statutory interpretation, constitutional violations, and a novel discovery issue. As a federal clerk, Esteban gained a wide berth of experience, drafting orders involving contract disputes, non-disclosure agreements, intellectual property, labor and employment, commercial insurance, bankruptcy, SEC and Title VII violations, Fourth Amendment infringement, Section 1983, habeas corpus, and compassionate release.

During law school, Esteban was a student attorney for the UNLV Immigration Clinic, where he represented clients seeking asylum and facing removal proceedings in immigration court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the Ninth Circuit. He was also an Articles Editor for the Nevada Law Journal, collaborating closely with law professors in analyzing and editing their articles.

As a first-generation college graduate and legal professional, Esteban’s resilience comes from being raised by parents that balanced multiple jobs to ensure the best education within their means. The result of his parents’ labor and Esteban’s rewarding education from the University of Southern California and the William S. Boyd School of Law prepared him to succeed in any professional undertaking.

Esteban says he became a lawyer because of his desire to walk alongside people through the difficult and sometimes intimidating legal process. Esteban enjoys rooting for Guadalajara, Real Madrid, and the Vegas Golden Knights when he is not practicing law. He also enjoys the physical and mental challenges of cycling and volleyball and engaging with the strategic elements of board games and video games.
