Erika Smolyar is an of counsel contract attorney with Maier Gutierrez & Associates, focusing on plaintiff-side employment law and business litigation, as well as personal injury cases. Passionate about helping individuals, Erika says, “I consider myself an advocate for the underdog. Winning for someone who deserved it—despite the immense hardships they have endured—is something I truly enjoy.” Often working behind the scenes, Erika thrives on helping her clients meet their legal objectives.

While Erika recently graduated from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and subsequently passed the California bar exam, she is no stranger to MGA and the firm’s clients. Erika worked as a law clerk at the firm during her time at law school. She returned to the firm because she liked the variety of legal areas and client challenges she works, as well as the collaborative team and supportive environment at MGA.

When not working hard for MGA’s clients, Erika is a classically trained singer. Originally from the Chicago area, Erika came to Las Vegas initially after pursuing a musical career in Los Angeles. She has a BS in Hospitality Management from UNLV and received a full-ride scholarship to law school. Having recently moved back to Los Angeles, she enjoys going to concerts with friends, experiencing the local culture, and hiking with her two dogs—Rufus, a Corgi, and a Border Collie Mix named Bleu.
